استقبال الرئيس عبد الفتاح السيسي اليوم الثلاثاء مجلس أمناء مكتبة الإسكندرية الإسكندرية /فريال مؤمن استقبل السيد الرئيس عبد الفتاح السيسي اليوم مجلس أمناء مكتبة الإسكندرية، الذي يضم نخبة من الشخصيات المصرية والدولية البارزة، منهم الدكتور مجدي يعقوب، والدكتور أكمل الدين إحسان أوغلو الأمين العام السابق لمنظمة التعاون الإسلامي، والسيدة “لويز موشيكيوابو” سكرتير عام المنظمة الدولية للفرانكوفونية، والسيد “ميجيل موراتينوس” وكيل السكرتير العام للأمم المتحدة والممثل الأعلى لتحالف الحضارات بالأمم المتحدة، والدكتور محمد بن عيسى وزير الخارجية والثقافة المغربي الأسبق، والشيخة مي بنت محمد آل خليفة رئيس مجلس أمناء مركز الشيخ إبراهيم بن محمد آل خليفة بالبحرين، والسيدة أمينة محمد وزيرة الثقافة الكينية السابقة، والسيدة سامية نكروما، والدكتور مفيد شهاب، والمهندس هاني عازر، والسيد محمد سلماوي رئيس اتحاد الكتاب المصريين، وذلك بحضور الدكتور أحمد زايد مدير مكتبة الإسكندرية.
وصرح المتحدث الرسمي باسم رئاسة الجمهورية أن السيد الرئيس رحب بأعضاء مجلس الأمناء، مؤكداً أهمية الدور القيم الذي تقوم به المكتبة في نشر وتعميق المعرفة والعلم، وكذلك التشجيع على القراءة والبحث والعمل الثقافي، بما يدعم الحوار بين الحضارات ويُعمق الفهم المُشترك والتعايش بين الشعوب، ومشيراً إلى أن إدراك أهمية وثراء التنوع البشري، وتكريس مبادئ المواطنة، هو الأساس لحماية النسيج المجتمعي، مؤكداً ضرورة أن تُكمل المكتبة الرسالة التي تؤديها مصر في بناء الجسور بين الثقافات، وفي إرساء السلام والتنمية.
كما شدد السيد الرئيس على حرص الدولة على أن تقدم المكتبة أفكاراً وأنشطة مُبتكرة، وأن تعمل على تعميق الاهتمامات العلمية والثقافية بين الشباب، والمساهمة بشكل عملي في تأهيلهم لتحمل مسئوليات المستقبل، من خلال تبسيط العلوم باستخدام أساليب تكنولوجية مبتكرة، ودعم ثقافة الإبداع والابتكار على المستوى العلمي والتقني والفني، واكتشاف الموهوبين من الأطفال والشباب، فضلاً عن صناعة المعرفة وتعميق العلاقة بين البحث العلمي والتطوير التقني، مع التركيز على ترسيخ الهوية المصرية من خلال برامج المكتبة المختلفة، مشيراً إلى حرص الدولة على تقديم الدعم الكامل لكافة المشروعات الثقافية الهادفة إلى رؤى مبتكرة وفعالة لدعم الشباب والنشء.
ومن جانبهم؛ ثمن أعضاء مجلس الأمناء الدعم المتواصل الذي يلقونه من الدولة لضمان قيام المكتبة بدورها الثقافي التاريخي، مشيدين بالاهتمام الذي يوليه السيد الرئيس بشكل شخصي لعمل المكتبة، وقد قاموا في هذا الإطار بطرح رؤاهم فيما يتعلق بالأدوار المختلفة التي يمكن أن تقوم بها المكتبة، لتحقق أهدافها كنافذة لمصر على العالم ونافذة للعالم على مصر وثقافتها الثرية وتاريخها الممتد.
كما شهد اللقاء نقاشاً مفتوحاً حول الأوضاع الدولية والإقليمية، حيث أشاد مجلس الأمناء بالدور المحوري الذي تقوم به مصر لاستعادة الاستقرار بالمنطقة، ولإنهاء الحرب في غزة وإدخال المساعدات الإنسانية لسكان القطاع، ومن جانبه أكد السيد الرئيس حرص مصر على وقف نزيف الدم بالقطاع، والإسهام الإيجابي المتواصل في دفع جهود تسوية الأزمات بالمنطقة، مشدداً على أن ترسيخ ثقافة السلام يعد عنصراً أساسياً لمستقبل أكثر استقراراً وأمناً للإقليم والعالم.
Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with members of the Board of Trustees of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, which consists of prominent Egyptian and international figures. Those include Dr. Magdy Yacoub; former Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu; Secretary-General of the International Organization of the Francophonie, Mrs. Louise Mushikiwabo; UN Under-Secretary-General and High Representative for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations, Miguel Moratinos; former Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs and Culture, Mohammed bin Issa; Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa Center for Culture and Research in Bahrain, Shaikha Mai Bint Mohammed Al-Khalifa; former Kenyan Minister of Culture, Amina Mohammed; Mrs. Samia Nkrumah; Dr. Mofid Shehab; Engineer Hani Azar; President of the Egyptian Writers’ Union, Dr. Mohamed Salmawi; and Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Dr. Ahmed Zaid.
Spokesman for the Presidency, Counselor Dr. Ahmed Fahmy, said that the President welcomed the members of the Board of Trustees, and emphasized the valuable role that the library plays in spreading and deepening knowledge and science. This is in addition to its efforts to encourage reading, research, and cultural work to promote dialogue among civilizations, deepen mutual understanding, and enhance coexistence among the peoples. The President noted that recognizing the significance and richness of human diversity and consolidating the principles of citizenship are the foundation for protecting social cohesion. President El-Sisi stressed the need for Bibliotheca Alexandrina to accomplish the mission carried out by Egypt in building bridges among cultures, and establishing peace and development.
President El-Sisi emphasized the state’s keenness to ensure that the library provides innovative ideas and activities, deepens scientific and cultural interests among the youth, and practically contributes to preparing them for future responsibilities by simplifying sciences, harnessing innovative technological methods, supporting a culture of creativity and innovation at the scientific, technical, and artistic levels, discovering talented children and youth, as well as creating knowledge and deepening the relationship between scientific research and technological development. This shall take place while simultaneously focusing on consolidating the Egyptian identity through the library’s various programs. The President also highlighted the state’s keenness to provide full support for all cultural projects which embrace innovative and effective visions to support youth and young people.
For their part, the members of the Board of Trustees expressed their appreciation for the state’s persistent support to ensure the library fulfills its historical and cultural role. They lauded the President’s personal interest in the library’s activities. They also shared their views on the various roles the library can play to achieve its goals as a window for Egypt to the world and a window for the world to Egypt and its rich culture and history.
The meeting also discussed international and regional developments. Members of the Board of Trustees commended Egypt’s pivotal role to restore stability in the region, end the war in Gaza, and deliver humanitarian aid to the inhabitants of the Gaza Strip. The President affirmed Egypt’s commitment to end the bloodshed in the sector and to continue to positively contribute to efforts to settle crises in the region. He emphasized that promoting a culture of peace is an essential element for a more stable and secure future for the region and the world.
